stressed skincare routine.

I’m one of those people whose skin always reflects their stress level.  A few rough days at work or a big upcoming event (like my move last month) and I start to break out.  I have learned to be constantly on defense, preparing myself to battle the breakouts and have found success with a steady routine of these products:

c/o Acne Relief Soap* – Made with all-natural ingredients that get the job done

Olay Pro-X Cleansing System – Cleans your face much better than with just cleanser and water alone

c/o Lumene Sensitive Touch SOS Cream* – Won’t leave your skin oily and instantly calms things down while providing the perfect amount of moisture

c/o Yes to Blueberries Intensive Skin Repair Serum* – Rejuvenates and brightens skin with anti-oxidants

St. Ives Green Tea Scrub – Removes dead skin while reducing redness and fighting breakouts

Mint Julep Masque – Shrinks pores and drys up acne to leave skin soft & smooth

Clean & Clear Acne Spot Treatment – Quickly works to clear up and heal blemishes and reduce inflammation

Consistency is key in keeping skin clear!  I’ve found it’s best to wash your face twice a day (AM & PM), and I’m kind of obsessed with the Olay Cleansing System, which in my opinion, is a very wallet friendly version of the coveted Clarasonic.  In the morning I tend to keep my routine pretty simple with the basics, cleansing and moisturizing, before applying makeup.  At the end of the day, it’s important to remove all makeup with a good washing – I generally use a facial scrub every other day to remove dead skin, with weekly masque treatments to dry up acne and shrink pores.  Before bed, apply a spot treatment to any pimples and soothe and repair skin with a small amount of serum (use sparingly! A little bit goes a long way).

Another trick I’ve found works wonders for keeping skin clear is to regularly wash your pillow cases and avoid touching your face (which is one of my worst habits – idle hands ALWAYS seem to end up on my face).

What’s your stressed skincare routine like?  Got any tips for keeping things acne free?

If I don’t like a product, I won’t feature it – it’s as simple as that.
