my city in five // chicago.

I wanted to end this week's My City in Five guest blogger series with a glimpse into my own city of Chicago.  Monica and I live in different neighborhoods of the city and I thought it would be fun to show off how different Chicago can be (and how many amazing areas of the city there are!)

Hello everyone! My name’s Monica of Caravan of Style  - a personal style and food blog. Just like Cait I live in the awesome city Chicago! I wanted to share with all of you my perfect day in my neighborhood of Wrigleyville/Lakeview. Chicago has so many unique neighborhoods and all have something different to share. If you make it out to the Wrigleville area, take a short walk a block away from Wrigley stadium and check out some of these hotspots.

1.     Southport Grocery & Café – Lakeview is home to some of the best brunch places in Chicago and Southport is honestly my favorite of them all. This small café has an amazing menu with great hangover cure of cupcake pancakes and delicious French toast. Here is usually a long wait to I suggest you call ahead to get your name on the list!

2.     M2 Boutique – Down the street from Southport is one of my favorite boutiques where I find some fun and unique jewelry. I love their unique designs and everything is color coordinated at the store making it easy to find something! They just got some new stuff in for fall!

3.     Lori’s Shoes – This is an iconic shoe store here in Chicago and a must to go store for any fashionista. Lori’s shoes carry a ton of different styles and just about every designer from Jeffrey Campbell to Franco Sarto.

4.     Julius Meinl – I’m a big Starbucks fan but every once in a while I love checking out local coffee houses. Julius is one of my favorite Austrian coffee houses. They have a great selection of coffee and their menu of traditional Austrian fair is delicious. I highly suggest coming in for a Vienna style coffee and a quick bite to eat!

5.     The Music Box Theatre- Everyone once in a while when I’m feeling artsy, I love to come to the Music Box Theatre. It’s like Chicago’s mini version of Sundance films and one of the only places that they play independent and foreign films.

    1. I'll have to check them out! I love how different Chicago is - I'm in the South Loop so I don't get up to the Wrigeyville area much, so many more places to see.
