relaxing.

Relaxing is one of those things I struggle with – my to do list is always a few items too long and the idea of doing nothing stresses me out, but sometimes it’s just necessary.  Last week was one of those weeks where within a one week span I ran a marathon, attended Chicago Ideas Week events and had a huge client meeting, all while battling intense migraines.  It became apparent that some down time was needed (hence the blog silence) and it was time to take a few days and and do nothing without feeling guilty.

So there you have it, my week pretty much summed up.  I am now proud to say that I’m all caught up on Gossip Girl (thank you Netflix) AND my “1000+ unread items” Google Reader.  I also was able to enjoy a few products I was sent to review and let me tell you, they’re both pretty amazing.

The Adovia Purifying Dead Sea Mud Mask (c/o Cleopatra’s Choice) has become a weekly routine of mine and has been very helpful in keeping my breakouts under control with vitamins and aloe to soothe your skin as it removes excess oil.  My tip for you – put it on right after you get out of the shower while your hair is in a towel, it’s a very thick mask and won’t be as effective if you keep it on while you’re still in the shower/bath as it needs some time to dry and work its magic.  Also you may want to skip the crisp white towel with this, as it’s a typical dark muddy color and could make a mess.

I’m also in the process of sampling some Halloween themed goodies from LUSH which may be as festive as I get with Halloween this year (not a fan).  This “Jacko” bath bomb (c/o LUSH) is not only adorable, but smells amazing as well with the traditional pumpkin and spice smells using clove and cardamom oils.  It’s a nice little way to relax in the tub while satisfying the inevitable craving for all things pumpkin that tends to happen this time of year.
