family time.

Christmas 1992.

Originally I had big plans to make the most of the holiday downtime and crank out blog posts – this break from work and the obligations and stresses of our move to SF was intended to be a time of ultimate productivity but after spending a few days at home with my family, I’ve changed my mind about things. We only have two weeks left before we move across the country and all the way to the west coast (I’m originally from New Jersey so although Chicago is already pretty far from home, California is a heck of a lot further) and I really just want to make the most of the next week.

So instead of having this week be about stocking stuffer and wrapping ideas, or snapping some holiday party appropriate outfit photos, I’m going to take a little break to spend less time with my laptop and more time soaking up the last time I’ll live less than 2,800 miles away. And you know what? You should probably do the same if you’re able to see your family. Whether you have a blog or not, go ahead and take a break from the Internet. Sleep in a bit. Hang out with friends from high school. Play board games with your family. Help mom and dad out around the house. Just relax and I promise the blog world will be right here waiting for you when you get back.

See ya next week – I hope your Christmas is wonderful and all is merry & bright.
