indulging in some “me time”.

I’m a bit of a type-A introvert which means I can seriously drive myself crazy sometimes by both over-booking myself with social obligations and happenings and putting too much on my own plate with my never ending mission to do it all now. It can be exhausting but there’s always one cure: indulging in some me time. Me time isn’t quite as easy to come by these days being that I work full-time in an office AND no longer live alone but I’ve found that even a little break to recharge can go a long way in terms of my overall happiness.

A few ways I’ve been sneaking in my me time these days:

I’ve changed my commute to work from a headache to one of my favorite parts of the day by ditching mass transit and traffic for a walk or bike ride. The mix of quiet alone time and a bit of exercise clears my mind and really forces me to be present (a rarity in our crazy connected world!). Getting some fresh air can work wonders for starting your day off right, especially when you’ve got a Skinny Cow iced coffee in-hand. Yum!

I’m a morning person by nature so when 2 PM rolls around I’m typically pretty fried and looking for an excuse to get some fresh air and escape from my desk. I also happen to be one of those people who is easily motivated by food so I love grabbing a sweet treat and heading to a park near the office for a quick break and some alone time. I’ve been stashing a box of Skinny Cow Caramel Divine Filled Chocolates in my desk drawer for moments like these – sometimes you’ve just gotta #treatyourself with a little bribe to get you through the remainder of the work day.

One of the most exhausting things about having both a full-time job and a blog is playing catch up on the blog world at the end of the day. I much prefer reading blogs and catching up with friends on social media rather than watching TV so during the week you’re likely to find me curled up on the couch with my laptop doing a bit of multi-tasking with a dessert in-hand. Me time also happens to be even better when my favorite food is involved… ice cream – lately I’ve been snacking on Skinny Cow’s Triple Chocolate Ripple ice cream bars (because three chocolates are better than one, duh).

My #SkinnyCowSecret  is definitely indulging in some “me time” – what’s yours? Share with @SkinnyCow on Twitter with #SkinnyCowSecret for a chance to win some sweet treats.
