Apartment Decorating // The Dining Room.

Drumroll please… for the first time in FIVE YEARS, I have space in my apartment for an actual table instead of a breakfast bar with stools. Do you have any idea how happy this makes me?! A real space for more than two people to sit down at once! While we’re really only talking space for a small round table here, I couldn’t be more excited.

As I had mentioned when sharing plans for my office space, our new apartment features a large open living space that we’re dividing up into three key spaces: the living room, the dining room and the office. Although we’ve only been in the space for a few weeks we’ve been loving the flow between the areas (in our last apartment my desk was in the bedroom so I was always shut away in there!) and having an actual table to sit down and eat at has felt so much more grown up than sitting at the counter.

Currently we have a few basics in place: a table and chairs from Joss & Main and a cowhide rug from Rugs USA. The rest is a blank slate! A peek into our plans for the space:

I can’t resist a good gallery wall (proof is in my apartment tours on The Everygirl and The Glitter Guide!) so the large wall in the dining room area is going to eventually be home to a floor to ceiling gallery wall! I’ve been busy browsing new art and collecting new pieces to add and have been really impressed with both Minted and Urban Outfitter’s variety of prints. Can’t wait to get everything hung up!

P.S. Tips for hanging a gallery wall here!
