Camo is the New Black.

Camo is the New Black.

Never in a million years did I think I’d own something camo. Growing up in a very small, rural town where deer hunting was a serious hobby of about 50% of my high school, I developed an aversion to the pattern thanks to my associations with it, but… Camo is the new black. That’s right. You heard it here first. Camo is back, and it’s the perfect neutral for fall.

Camo is the New Black.

This camo jacket has been on heavy rotation over the past few weeks since it’s arrival after a little random impulse online shopping at Abercrombie & Fitch (another thing I never thought I’d wear again!). It’s the perfect military jacket silhouette – masculine with just a little tailoring around the waist to keep it from being too boxy and oversized. I’ve been pairing it with dresses to create juxtaposition between the girly and the rugged and even with color and pattern because it really works well as a neutral.

Paired with a fresh pair of skinny cords and the most beautiful leather backpack from Will Leather Goods, I feel like I’m headed back to school, but in the coolest way.

Have you tried camo as a neutral yet?
