summer to do list.

{ via Alba Love }

What can I say, I'm a sucker for a good to do list.  While these lists often cover the mundane - from groceries to every detail of my Saturday - I always try and make things fun with a seasonal to do list as a reminder to relax and live a little.  A to do list was definitely in order to celebrate my first summer in Chicago, so here are some of the things I'm hoping to accomplish over the next few months while soaking up some sunshine:

Kayak the Chicago River
Take Callie to the dog beach
Host a cocktail party on my roof deck (bonus points if it's fireworks night)
Spend a day at the Art Institute
Join a book club
Ride a bike
Do yoga in Grant Park
Make fancy fruit popsicles
Go out on Lake Michigan on a boat
Have a picnic
Find a running group for marathon training

I love how different summer is for everyone - from traveling to relaxing - everyone seems to have their own agenda and recipe for the perfect summer.  Do you have any fun plans for this summer or a summer to do list of your own?  Have any other suggestions for me to add to my list?

  1. Great tip! The one I first found runs at 6:30 AM on Saturdays, which I don't think I can commit to, so the search continues.

  2. They're on Saturdays at 8 AM! Super beginner friendly - we went last week and it was very low pressure (I'm awful at yoga)

  6. Yes! Let's find one - I want a book club that reads real books (i.e. no "Fifty Shades of Gray" or "Hunger Games").

  7. I can't wait, just need to get Callie all the proper registration tags. She LOVES swimming so it should be a great time for her.
