I feel like I'm a little late to the game with this whole brunch thing - I'm totally familiar with weekend breakfasts at the diner or a run to the bagel place for a Taylor Ham, egg and cheese, but fancy brunch food and mimosas? Yeah, not something I'm used to. I've noticed that everyone else except me was obsessed with brunch, so I decided to see what all the hype was about and I must admit, I think I'm hooked.
Anyway, I met up with one of my faves, Sara from Project Soiree to grab brunch at Yolk, which we had both heard amazing things about. I was totally impressed with the menu (it was huge) and major bonus, it's a BYOB restaurant, which means one thing... bring your own bottle of champagne and you're set for mimosas. After we had brunched we headed over to the Shedd Aquarium which I've been dying to visit since I moved to Chicago - winters in the windy city call for lots of indoor activities, and a couple of hours wandering around Shedd was perfect.
In addition to being obsessed with brunch, I'm now mildly obsessed with Beluga whales - seriously, how cute are they?

Such a fun day! Yolk top my list as best brunch in Chicago :)

ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing to see at an aquarium are the jellyfish. I ADORE them, to the point that my dream house has a huge jellyfish tank in it for viewing and relaxation purposes :)
